NWSD SURF Pendant is a MUST-HAVE item for a beach lover, like you!

NWSD SURF series are recycled products made with coating and coloring resin dripped from a surfboard and left on the work floor. The accumulated resin is scrapped off from the work floor and disposed as industrial waste. It is reborn and embedded an important message to protect the coastal environment.

NWSD is a coined word of "NEW" and "USED." NWSD project was launched to give new life and role to used items and byproducts and started with NWSD SURF series to encourage to act to preserve the coastal environment, enabling sustainable, healthy enjoyment for surfers, bodyboarders and those who love the oceans.

Pendant head is created by Kanzashi (Japanese hairpin and sticks) mister. Leather strings and denim cases are fixed by people in a facility for the disabled. NWSD project contributes to expand employment opportunities as well as to increase workers' wages.

Wide variety of denim fabrics is manufactured every year to meet rapidly changing demands in the fashion industry. On the other hand, there exist many mockups and sample fabrics that end up not being commercialized and becoming wastes. This fact motivated NWSD project to design and produce original denim case and other denim products. All NWSD-SURF series come in NWSD-DENIM cases.

NWSD-SURF series are jointly-developed by NWSD project and Surfrider Foundation Japan, a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to preserve the coastal environment. The product cost is partly donated to support SFJ's activities.
