Traditional Nambu Iron Kettle has been created traditionally by a technique that does not require any chemical use to maintain its anti-rusting qualities. The NAKED PAN Series was born by applying even advanced, patented technique of such old wisdom to other iron cookwares.

NAKED PAN is heated by the temperatures around 800 C to 900 C for approximately 1 hour on charcoal fire. This process generates an oxidized layer on the surface (Fe3O4), which is an anti-rusting stable structure.
Naked Pan is rust-preventive yet organic and environmentally friendly. It is notable for the light gray color compared to traditional Nambu ironware.

What is Nambu ironware?
Tekki means ironware. Nambu ironware first originated in the Heian period (782-1191) in what is now Iwate Prefecture, Japan. This traditional Japanese art gained a strong reputation throughout the country in the Meiji period.

The ironware is cast by pouring molten iron into a sand mold. Melting down old broken pots and pans and remaking them into new ones has been taken as a given since the olden days. Nambu ironware are 75% recycled products.
