Luckily there is an answer. KEISO-KUN wallpaper is made using “keiso” diatomaceous earth, lime and amino acids, and contains no synthetic resins. Keiso earth is highly porous making it light and absorbent for both moisture and heat. For this reason, it has long been used in Japan as a wall finish. While most wall materials contain synthetic ingredients, KEISO-KUN is made entirely of natural materials by utilizing lime as starch. Alkaline lime will work to neutralize the harmful substances in your room and prevent mold. KEISO-KUN wallpaper and wall finishes maintain these abilities and absorb chemicals and vapors.
